Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots! Everybooooody. Shots!
Lo and behold, we’re letting the good times roll with these heavenly King Cake Pudding Shots. You can make them virgin by excluding the deliciously perfect Pinnacle vodka with the flavor inspired by King Cake, the infamous celebratory Mardi Gras cake.
Yay for online shopping sales! Old Navy is having a HUGE sale. We had $25 of rewards cash in our account, a $100 gift card from my parents for Christmas, and 7% Ebates cash back.
We paid close to nothing and bought a whole ton of stuff. The cutest dresses and shorts. Cute tops for the summer. My wife got joggers in different colors and cool jackets and tees. Yas queen. I love sales and I love Old Navy. We both do.
We love shopping at Trader Joe’s. It feels like our second home. The smiling, familiar faces. The reusable bags. The Trader Joesian culture. Ahhh, the love!
Well, yesterday, we went grocery shopping to fill up the fridge and pantry. Of course, we stopped by the fresh flowers at the entrance to see if anything tickled our fancy. As always, they popped me with a surprise. I love when they have holiday bouquets. We picked up a super sweet Mardi Gras Floral Arrangement for $3.99. What a freaking steal!
Just the other day we invited Meli and Chris over to eat to thank them for helping us with our guest room closet. We made them Garlic Butter Spaghetti & Meatballs and guess what?! They LOVED it. And we did, too. We have made the garlic butter sauce before but never with spaghetti & meatballs. What rock have we been hiding under all this time?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
If I have learned anything about love and marriage, it is that you have to learn to give from the inside. Breakfast Lasagna made out of Cinnamon Raisin French Toast for a quiet, breezy Florida morning? “Yes, please!”, my wife says excitingly. That’s love right there. We’re so getting ready for Valentine’s Day, it’s not even funny.
Alas, Sunday is here! It’ll soon be time to finish up a project or two that have been in the works. Before we get to crack-a-lacking, Conversation Heart Sugar Scrub is up for grabs. Who’s with me?
It feels good to be home. A sense of appreciation for the true homeyness rushes back to me as I walk in the door. I was out of town all week long. Intense ass interpreting assignment hit the books and I decided to take it. That was a good call. I enjoyed every single minute of it but missed my home twice as much in the background. With Strawberries & Cream Shots on my mind, I made it home yesterday with a mission to complete.
Yay! The day is getting closer and closer: Valentine’s Day. I love it. All the hearts. All the love. All the pink. Weeee. Conversation hearts for some Valentine’s Day Mantle Décor madness and we’re off!
Super Bowl weekend!
I’m not a fan of sports, like I have said before on the blog. But I sure as hell love throwing a party for whatever the reason and cooking for whoever comes over. Tonight, Sports Night Chicken is all the rage.
My honey has been making Sports Night Chicken once a week for dinner for the last few weeks and we just love it. It’s got the perfect amount of spice and tang with lots of garlic, which we are obsessed with. Sports Night Chicken is healthy, clean and scrumptious.
Back in the summer, my wife and I laid out a Cuban series for the blog. We did a few weeks of delicious homemade, cultural recipes passed down from my maternal grandmother. We did the true classics: frijoles negros, platanitos maduros, tostones, etc. Of course, we have to add the chefNia* touch to some recipes and come up with a Caribbean twist. Anything from our melt-in-your-mouth Caramelized Onions to the eye-watering Cilantro Garlic Sauce.
