Greetings, everyone! It’s the first of the month and, now that we are in the beginning of March, it’s time to be festive! Woot, woot. I decided I would come up with 17 Lucky Charms for St. Patrick’s Day. I know, I’m so rad. Cereal used to be an entire food group in my past life. For me, cereal is an absolute no go. As tempting as it may be to pour some milk over a bowl of cereal, neither the cereal nor the milk will do me any good. In lieu of no cereal in my life—yes, that unfortunately includes Lucky Charms—I surfed all of the Internet to find the best DIY projects, home decor ideas, goodies and treats for St. Patrick’s Day.
Each of these different pieces of inspiration for a celebratory holiday led me to title them the 17 Lucky Charms for St. Patrick’s Day. I find that each and every single one of these have their own lucky charm. Whether you make one of the goodies to give to someone or if you follow along with a project to decorate your own house, I picked all of the lucky charms that I found and swooned over. Read More
Have you ever thrown by Disney Frozen party? I sure have! I’ve thrown a couple actually. The first one was a test run when my parents were in town for Christmas about two years ago or so. I live in the happiest place on earth so it’s a given that I had watched the movie a couple times. It’s an amazing movie with a great story-line, and; that is no surprise coming from Disney. When I offered the idea of a movie night to my wife and my parents to watch the movie and throw a Disney Frozen party, they were ecstatic and I told them to sit back as I did all the work. They were in for quite the ride and surprise. Read More
What a more perfect way to celebrate George Washington’s birthday today than to make these beautiful, easy-to-make Patriotic Confetti Poppers! Founding father, America’s first ever president, cherry tree cutter, father of his country, incessant fighter, wise and honest man. He deserves confetti all over the place on his birthday so let’s give it to him. For the Americans reading it, I know we celebrate this day as “Presidents Day” in order to honor all the presidents that have come before us, but; being that today is actually Washington’s birth I want to talk about how he believed in us before there even was an us like the United States, pun intended. Of those who are reading this post, are you American? If not, where are you from? Read More
Since the death of my grandfather, cardinals have signified him watching over us. My mother, father and I happen to always see cardinals flying by or simply sitting nearby. Every time we do, we know it’s God reminding us that Tata is always watching, always loving, and always rejoicing. This keeps us motivated. This keeps his memory in us fresh. This keeps us going. Recently, as I walked Bentley by the lake and chatted on the phone with my mom, I saw a cardinal drinking from a puddle of water near my patio. As I saw him enjoying a nice bath in the puddle, I quickly put her on speaker while telling her what I saw and snapped a few pictures. The pictures came out terrible because he was moving around but I knew I had to make a way to remind her of those good memories. I had to make a way to share what I felt in that moment without her seeing the same image. A homemade Christmas Mason Jar Snow Globe was the perfect thing. Read More
Halloween is never a holiday I truly celebrate or worship. The whole “Day of the Dead” thing really doesn’t intrigue me in one bit. I do, however, enjoy seeing kids dress up in cute costumes and making goodies for the kids of the family to enjoy. This year being in Orlando for the first time and away from the family, we won’t be trick-o-treating with the girls, Herlis and Nohely, or dress up for fun.
We decided we’d do one of our favorite Halloween treats: watch a movie! Nobody goes to the movies on Halloween. If people aren’t out getting drunk in sexy costumes or knocking on people’s doors for candy, they are sure not to be found at the movie theater. This year we’re going to watch The Book of Life. A new cute, cartoon movie. I enjoy those. Read More
