As much as we want to go to New Orleans this year for Mardi Gras, we have to face the music. We cannot make it happen. We have lots of work to do around the house and so much to save up for in order to have an awesome backpacking trip in Europe, come April. Next year, we vow to try harder. Forget trying, we will make it happen. Read More
We love shopping at Trader Joe’s. It feels like our second home. The smiling, familiar faces. The reusable bags. The Trader Joesian culture. Ahhh, the love!
Well, yesterday, we went grocery shopping to fill up the fridge and pantry. Of course, we stopped by the fresh flowers at the entrance to see if anything tickled our fancy. As always, they popped me with a surprise. I love when they have holiday bouquets. We picked up a super sweet Mardi Gras Floral Arrangement for $3.99. What a freaking steal! Read More
Yay! The day is getting closer and closer: Valentine’s Day. I love it. All the hearts. All the love. All the pink. Weeee. Conversation hearts for some Valentine’s Day Mantle Décor madness and we’re off!
After we contemplated on using conversation hearts for our Valentine’s Day Mantle Décor for so long, we finally did it! Little sweet, sugary hearts everywhere. Read More
Dollar Tree is stocked up for Valentine’s Day, guys! You need to hurry and grab what they’ve got before it’s all gone. And, I am not paranoid. I am so serious. If you want to make this Silent Sweetheart Wind Chime, you’re going to have to RUN to grab a pack of the cute conversation heart foam stickers we used for this project.
Every holiday, they stock up on all the goodies a month or two in advance. About a week or two before the big day, everything good is absolutely gone. No joke, I make several trips to make sure I didn’t miss what was available. One more trip for us this week so we can rally up a few more things. Read More
This year, we are digging into a new list of home renovations but we refuse to leave the sweetness of red, pink & white behind. We’re set to make up for our beloved, lost valentine of 2016. Read More
We have such an amazing weekend! We had family over, which is our absolute favorite. My mother and father-in-law, my brother and sister in law, and our niece and nephew all came over for a double birthday celebration. It was Kalex’s birthday on Cinco de Mayo and Lynn’s birthday on the 12th. We planned and planned and finally decided what we wanted to do.
Thank God for AAA and their amazing discounts. We decided we would go to Busch Gardens and Aquatica. All we had to do was log into the AAA website and look up theme park tickets. We got the greatest deal! Three day pass valid for six months after the first entry for use in any three of four different parks: Busch Gardens, Sea World, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. Can you guess how much we paid per person?! I won’t wait all day for you to get it right so I’ll just tell you. $98.99! Yes, you read that right. We got tickets for three different visits all for less than $100 each. What a bargain! That’s what I call a steal. Read More
A long time ago I saw the cutest pin on Pinterest. It was a chair or a side table made up of a piece of tree bark and metal legs. I pondered on how to make this for quite a long time but I also didn’t find it fitting to our home or lifestyle. It was just one of those pins you throw up onto one of your boards in that Pinterest cloud somewhere. And there it stayed for months on end. Plus, it was one of the ones that have a dead link so I’d never know who, what, when, where, how or why.
After the purchase of our first home, our taste in design changed quite a bit. Surprising, huh? Especially considering how stubborn I am. We were moving into a house that had all wood floors on all three levels. Wood floors were not something that I ever liked. Too much wood made me feel a little bit funky. I had to marry them though so I had to find a way to love them because I don’t have the type of money to uproot the floors of the entire house. Read More
Our family has been ready to hit the beach for quite some time now. We live in Florida so we can basically hit the beach whenever we like to; yet, this winter was colder than usual here and spring has been quite chilly. Not everybody has the luxury of living in The Sunshine State so the time of year for swimwear and beachy attire is rolling right around the corner.
There’s a huge chunk of the year when you’ll catch me on the daily with a bathing suit on. Drying a wet bathing suit is the worst! If you go to the beach or pool often during the summer, you know exactly what I’m talking about when it comes to hanging your swimwear out to dry. It’s definitely not good to put it in the dryer because it can ruin the fabric and altogether ruin the suit so it has to hang somewhere to dry up. We have a ton of bathing suits so that we can interchange while we have some of them hanging outside to dry. It’s a little bit inconvenient to have all of your patio chairs covered in wet bathing suits. The more people with wet clothing, the worse. Read More
Today’s the perfect day to share our new and improved family gallery wall. Since my wife and I are enjoying a week chalk full of family events, I found it fitting to talk about how we created the perfect wall of family memories upon entering our humble abode. So, I am probably somewhere in Mexico right now chilling with the family and spending great quality time.
My father-in-law really outdid himself last year on Thanksgiving, which was also my mother-in-law’s birthday. We had gone up to the mountains—we being my brother and sister-in-law (Kalex & Lynn) with my niece and nephew (Kaylin & Gordo), my mother and father-in-law (Mayra & Freddy)—to spend Thanksgiving AND her 50th birthday in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Are you looking to paint your wooden fence? Don’t know what you are even doing? You’ve come to the right place.
This post is a Q&A based on a project that our cousin Cathy and Titi Lisa completed. They painted the wooden fence in their backyard to start off their outdoor renovation, which is off to a swell start. The answers to our questions are a combination of both Cathy and Lisa’s answers. Once you see the before and after pictures, you will see what a great job they did on painting their wooden fence. Now let’s get to it! Read More
