What are you guys going to be doing today? We are hopefully kicking it back in Miami spending it with the men in our life. There’s a few important ones of those. If we are not, we may be relaxing at home or in our city. One thing we can guarantee is that we will be munching on a bowl of Teriyaki Chicken Strips at some point today. Read More
About three years ago, I did a 23 day stint working as a sign language interpreter in Hawaii. I worked in every kind of setting you could imagine. From the cruise ship doing theatrical performances to walking the fields of coffee bean, pineapple and macadamia nut farms. We rode on buses on our way to water excursions and saw everything there is to see, coast-to-coast. Read More
We love Peruvian food. Always have and always will. Growing up in South Florida, you get exposed to a lot of different Latin cultures. It’s a beautiful thing, really. There are restaurants galore offering all types of South American cuisine. Caribbean, too. Read More
This is an old recipe but I had to bring onto the blog, finally. Green Tomato Ratatouille is a green dish for the greenest of holidays. You heard that right. St. Patrick’s Day is coming really soon and this is a twist on a classic French dish that hits the spot. Read More
Yay for online shopping sales! Old Navy is having a HUGE sale. We had $25 of rewards cash in our account, a $100 gift card from my parents for Christmas, and 7% Ebates cash back.
We paid close to nothing and bought a whole ton of stuff. The cutest dresses and shorts. Cute tops for the summer. My wife got joggers in different colors and cool jackets and tees. Yas queen. I love sales and I love Old Navy. We both do. Read More
Just the other day we invited Meli and Chris over to eat to thank them for helping us with our guest room closet. We made them Garlic Butter Spaghetti & Meatballs and guess what?! They LOVED it. And we did, too. We have made the garlic butter sauce before but never with spaghetti & meatballs. What rock have we been hiding under all this time? Read More
Super Bowl weekend!
I’m not a fan of sports, like I have said before on the blog. But I sure as hell love throwing a party for whatever the reason and cooking for whoever comes over. Tonight, Sports Night Chicken is all the rage.
My honey has been making Sports Night Chicken once a week for dinner for the last few weeks and we just love it. It’s got the perfect amount of spice and tang with lots of garlic, which we are obsessed with. Sports Night Chicken is healthy, clean and scrumptious. Read More
Back in the summer, my wife and I laid out a Cuban series for the blog. We did a few weeks of delicious homemade, cultural recipes passed down from my maternal grandmother. We did the true classics: frijoles negros, platanitos maduros, tostones, etc. Of course, we have to add the chefNia* touch to some recipes and come up with a Caribbean twist. Anything from our melt-in-your-mouth Caramelized Onions to the eye-watering Cilantro Garlic Sauce. Read More
My wife absolutely loves it when I make Honey Garlic Chick Peas. It’s one of her top favorite meals that I make at home. Since we make those quite often and incorporate chick peas in our diet whenever possible, I decided to kick it up a notch and make some Honey Garlic Shrimp. This is definitely something that I would eat with my Homemade Special Fried Rice. Although I didn’t eat it with rice the first time around, you better believe the next time will. Seriously, who needs take out when you can make better food at home?! Read More

This is a perfect quote for the moment, right now. We are probably somewhere in the Yukon right now. Tonight we stay in Whitehorse. Almost there, almost there! I can hear Shaun T screaming at me in my head from Insanity. HA! We sure have a warm bed tucked up in the mountains tonight but what we don’t have—and totally wish we had—is this amazing Szechuan Chicken. It’s one of those take-out makeover dishes. Who knows, maybe we are getting take-out tonight. It’ll probably be some amazing Canadian food that I can’t wait to try. Read More
