We love shopping at Trader Joe’s. It feels like our second home. The smiling, familiar faces. The reusable bags. The Trader Joesian culture. Ahhh, the love!
Well, yesterday, we went grocery shopping to fill up the fridge and pantry. Of course, we stopped by the fresh flowers at the entrance to see if anything tickled our fancy. As always, they popped me with a surprise. I love when they have holiday bouquets. We picked up a super sweet Mardi Gras Floral Arrangement for $3.99. What a freaking steal!
Every holiday, we decorate the house and fill up our home with jars or vases full of fresh cut flowers. We love it. It brings fresh oxygen into all the rooms and brightens up each day. This time, we hit it with the Mardi Gras snaz. Golden yellow. Bright purple. Calming green.
There are obviously reasons why Mardi Gras is celebrated in the flashy, smashy gold and purple and green. I did some research because I had to know more. I couldn’t just stand at flashy and smashy. I needed more. I needed to feel the reasoning behind it since this is the first year we actually decided to decorate the whole house for Mardi Gras.
Green represents friendship. Purple stands for royalty. Gold shines in purity. Represented by shiny beads everywhere, doubloons on the floor, decadent king cake by the mouthful, parades and masquerades. The true meaning runs deep. And we’re here to celebrate it at home. Don’t forget to check out the sneak peak to our festive Mardi Gras Mantle Décor.
