We love to make mason jar meals to prep for the week. We fill them up with different fresh salads, breakfast parfaits, chicken chop-chops, and more. One of our latest favorites to fill up mason jars with is this Thai Peanut Broccoli Slaw. Read More
My wife absolutely loves it when I make Honey Garlic Chick Peas. It’s one of her top favorite meals that I make at home. Since we make those quite often and incorporate chick peas in our diet whenever possible, I decided to kick it up a notch and make some Honey Garlic Shrimp. This is definitely something that I would eat with my Homemade Special Fried Rice. Although I didn’t eat it with rice the first time around, you better believe the next time will. Seriously, who needs take out when you can make better food at home?! Read More

This is a perfect quote for the moment, right now. We are probably somewhere in the Yukon right now. Tonight we stay in Whitehorse. Almost there, almost there! I can hear Shaun T screaming at me in my head from Insanity. HA! We sure have a warm bed tucked up in the mountains tonight but what we don’t have—and totally wish we had—is this amazing Szechuan Chicken. It’s one of those take-out makeover dishes. Who knows, maybe we are getting take-out tonight. It’ll probably be some amazing Canadian food that I can’t wait to try. Read More
I don’t think I will get tired of homemade fried rice any time soon. After we discovered we could bring take-out home without actually leaving the house, we have become totally obsessed with homemade Chinese food
Today, we are taking Chinese take-out at home to a whole nother level! With this Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice, you will silence your take-out woes and save yourself some major cash money bypassing the take-out life. We started off with making our Homemade Special Fried Rice. And, after that, we were absolutely hooked. Read More
I’ll be honest, it’s been a really long time since my family and I order Chinese takeout to be delivered to our house for lunch, or even dinner. It used to be a staple in my mom’s kitchen throughout my childhood. I didn’t necessarily grow up with unhealthy, junk food at my house. There were just those days that my parents would wake up and know for sure that they wanted nothing but a bowl of house special fried rice and honey garlic chicken maybe even Asian BBQ spare ribs to split with the option of an eggroll per person or some crab rangoons to share. The latter is my personal favorite. Super freaking delicious yet super freaking unhealthy!
There is still nothing like a bowl of hot steaming special fried rice to fill a winter tummy. Do you like to order Chinese takeout on days you just do not want to cook at all? Of course, none of these meals are actually anything that you can put the label of “healthy” on; the thing is that Chinese takeout has simply become socially acceptable and heath is not questioned when placing an order for a heart attack in a cardboard box delivered to your front door. How freaking convenient! It’s not to say a traditional Chinese takeout meal can’t be reinvented in a homemade and healthy way for all to enjoy. Read More
I am loving how I am feeling doing the Shakeology Cleanse these couple of days. I have decided to do it the length of time of Silent Weekend this year, 4 days. I am enjoying the clean feeling of just Greenberry, fruit, and 1 salad a day. Today, it’s this Asian Chicken Salad.
Trying to make this 3 ingredient Thai lunch work out according to the meal plan was easier than I thought! I think day 4 is my new favorite. I know it doesn’t look like 3 ingredients down below but it was 3 main ingredients with extras added to make a delectable dish. Read More
Somehow, I always end up substituting something in the fat blast meal plan at least once daily. Grrr! Asian Steak Salad it is. It’s either cause I forgot one thing required throughout the week or ran out, bleh.
This baby was killer! It might have had a more strong kick if it had a hint of sweetener, but; remember, this week we are avoiding extra sugars on the fat blast. I know it is only day 2; yet, I feel so rejuvenated. I think Sue has no idea how much this has really helped me kick start my body into gear. I have been feeling so sluggish and lazy. My chronic back pain has been at its all time worst. If I did not get up with some motivation, I would not feel as great as I do right now! Read More
I always loved ordering some Cashew Chicken from a Chinese or Asian inspired restaurant. Notice how I said loved… Now, I try to avoid take out altogether. Although we do have some take out sometimes, we make sure to avoid all the nasty stuff we don’t like: MSG (first and foremost), sugar (yuck!), and gluten (blegh). You get the point? No more breaded nonsense with a sauce full of MSG and sugar. Read More
