To be welcomed to the venue, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant on International Drive in the heart of Orlando, all guests were handed a glass of their Blanc de Blanc Champagne. The point of this was a champagne toast entrance but my wife and I took forever to get to the venue from the other venue. We had to drop Bentley Mac at home because he came with us to the wedding, obviously. But we didn’t want him going to the winery. Makes sense, huh? Well, my brother-in-law accidentally took our house and car keys with him to the winery so we noticed when we finished taking photos throughout Cypress Grove Gardens and he was almost there. We had to wait for him to turn around and bring the keys to FINALLY go drop the boy off at home. Read More
A pinch of the Irish to all those not wearing green today! I’m rocking it out with my high waisted green pencil skirt from the Luella collection at Target last century. Haha. I’m serious. It is from forever ago but Luella is still in style and this skirt is still bright and festive. Read More
I think I hit the jackpot ladies and gents. I love to make popsicles with my cheap little popsicle mold from the dollar store. You know it’s summer when the popsicle mold sits on the kitchen counter or in the dish drying rack on a daily basis. Let’s be real here, everyone loves popsicles. And, nothing says the word “summer” like Cantaloupe & Honey Dew Wine Popsicles!
There is no such thing as laid out by the pool during summer without a popsicle in your hand, and; better yet this time, made of fruit & wine.
I love to make sangria, especially when the family travels to come and visit. It’s fun to get all the ladies in the kitchen to help cut up some fruit and have some much-needed bonding time. This particular time we were unable to make it together. Boo-hoo.
I forfeited the opportunity to go to Busch Gardens in order to prepare for a surprise party for my brother and sister-in-law. See more of that story here. I realized that Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria would be the perfect refreshment after the whole gang got back home. Busch Gardens is in Tampa and we live in Orlando so after they spent all day sweating balls at a theme park, they had to drive two hours to finally be able to sit down and relax at home. I was sure that they would have a huge smile on their face if I handed them a cup mason jar of Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria upon waltzing in the front door. Read More
Another holiday is under way! We love the holidays. No matter what it is, Jesus is in the center of it all. He’s truly the glue that holds our family and friends together.
Entertaining guests is so much fun—and such a blessing. The look on their faces when they see all of the decorations and the dining table perfectly set is priceless. To top that there is nothing like filling up somebody’s cup with a refreshing juice or drink, especially if they come in a mason jars. I have been dreaming of making a Spring White Wine Sangria for quite a while. I knew I would have to make it a couple times before Easter so that I can get perfect pictures and become a pro for the real deal at our brunch on Resurrection Sunday. Read More
Today I am making something that is not usual for us to make at home. Simple syrup! And not just any simple syrup it’s Rhubarb Simple Syrup. I have plans to make a Spring White Wine Sangria for Easter Sunday brunch. This is going to be the perfect addition to make our party cocktail pop!
You won’t typically see a simple syrup up on the blog because the main ingredient tends to be white sugar. Eek!! We only have that in the craft studio and it’s strictly meant for crafts. For all the family and friends that come to visit and wake up craving coffee in the morning, I refuse to serve them their coffee with white sugar. Sorry, I’m not sorry. Read More
