I love to make sangria, especially when the family travels to come and visit. It’s fun to get all the ladies in the kitchen to help cut up some fruit and have some much-needed bonding time. This particular time we were unable to make it together. Boo-hoo.
I forfeited the opportunity to go to Busch Gardens in order to prepare for a surprise party for my brother and sister-in-law. See more of that story here. I realized that Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria would be the perfect refreshment after the whole gang got back home. Busch Gardens is in Tampa and we live in Orlando so after they spent all day sweating balls at a theme park, they had to drive two hours to finally be able to sit down and relax at home. I was sure that they would have a huge smile on their face if I handed them a cup mason jar of Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria upon waltzing in the front door.
You better believe they loved it. I didn’t even get to have any! That’s okay though because I had a small glass of Chianti Riserva 2011 so I was good. Before you think I did not taste it, I will well inform you that I didn’t have a bit of it before storing it in the refrigerator. How else could I vouch for my perfectly sweet Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria?
Sometimes my blogging ideas only run me an ounce or tablespoon of the finished product—mostly because everyone who comes over eats everything that I make and almost everything that’s good ends up on here.
All I know is that if one of my recipe creations disappears faster than I can say “cheese puffs” and then I know it is blog worthy. For sure this Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria recipe is one to go down in the books. It simply takes me back to the Hawaiian punch days with a red stained upper lip mustache running around on a sugar high, most likely with a splinter in my finger from unsuccessfully attempting to climb a fence. Horrifying, I know!
The flavor in this Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria is right on. No one else but our great friends Luchi and Joi to thank for this. Those are some of our friends from Miami. The last time they were here was this past December. They had brought a bottle of Pinnacle Tropical Punch Vodka. I tend not to drink flavored liquor so I told them to storage freezer and grab it as they like—besides, they were on vacation. Turns out they hardly drank any of it and it has been sitting in my freezer since! As soon as I spotted it, I knew it was going to partake in the best Tropical Fruit Punch Sangria recipe known to man. Why don’t you make some yourself? Try it and see.
